Important Notes: * The higher the ISO the more sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. * The lower the ISO the less sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. You use low ISO when shooting in daylight or with studio light. You use high ISO when there is not a lot of light available. The drawback of high ISO is graininess/noise in picture. How to Start a Photography Business From Home

If you have a passion for photography, you may want to highly consider starting a business out of your home. It may seem like it's going to be hard for you at first, but trust me, with some motivation and discipline, you really can achieve anything!

Do you have an office? Look around your home right now. Can you set up an office anywhere in your home? In my opinion, I would probably want a nice, quiet area, where I can concentrate, as well as focus on my projects. What you're going to find out is that with an office, you will be able to set up appointments, and if the room is big enough, you can even have your own photography studio.

Photography Tips

Limit your equipment - The thing I like about photography is that you don't have to go all out, and purchase ,000 worth of equipment just to start up your company. Instead, you can buy a lot of third-party used products on places like Craiglist and eBay. The key here is to make sure that you don't spend too much in your start up costs. It's up to you to research the things that you would want. Just make sure that you don't spend overboard.

How to Start a Photography Business From Home

Touch up on your skills - You don't have to have a certification to start up a photography business. In fact, all it's going to take is a creative mind. What you're going to want to do is read some tips, and pointers online. Use your imagination, and take some shots. You can use these shots as examples, and post them on a website when you create one.

Be professional - Obviously you're going to need a business plan. Where are you going to advertise? How much is it going to cost to acquire a customer? etc? You will need to set time aside, and figure this out. When I say that you need to be professional, you're going to have to pick out a company name, get a logo, and make yourself look like an actual company. If you seem professional, people are going to purchase from you.

Take Action! If you've been thinking about doing this, I highly recommend that you get out there, and start up this business. What you're going to find out is that if you just keep dreaming, you will never reach those goals that you want. Get up, take action, and even if you fail, you can at least say you tried.

How to Find Online Equine Photography Instruction

Love horses? Love photography? Have you ever thought about learning photography from an online equine photography instructor? It is a lot more affordable than learning in person, and it is a lot more effective than trying to teach yourself or to read how-to books. When you work with an online equine photography instructor, you send in your portfolio of photos (or a select few that you'd like critiques on) and your coach returns his or her comments to you.

Online instruction is not hard to find. You can search for "online equine photography coach." Expect to pay about to 0 for an in-depth critique (the price just depends on the amount of information your coach is willing to return to you). Then, if you like this coach, you could consider asking about clinics or other ways of getting instruction.

Photography Tips

Working with an equine photography instructor is also a great way to begin networking. If you ever hope to become a professional, or if you just want to rub elbows with the top dogs, this is a great way to start. You can often find forums that allow you to upload your photos and market your services (if you are trying to break into photography as a career). You can also find other students to chat with to compare tips and techniques.

How to Find Online Equine Photography Instruction

Equine photography instructors can give you help on everything from what kind of equipment to use to how to create the right lighting for dark horses or for shooting in an indoor arena. They can also help you with your timing, for example, when you are shooting jumping horses or taking shots of galloping race horses.

If you are really interested in making it a career, make sure to find an online forum that allows you to upload your photos and market your services - that way you'll be sure to get noticed and at the same time you can improve your skills!

A Basic Digital Photography Class - Learn Important Hints and Tips

Photography is a wonderful hobby that allows you to create beautiful memories, shoot artistic scenes, and capture the beauty of nature (sometimes all in one shot). However, many people believe that the 'art' has been taken away from photography with the advent of digital cameras.

The truth is that, although digital cameras can do all the work for you, they do not have to. In fact, you may be surprised at how much effect simple steps and changes can make to the quality of your pictures. So, read on to take this digital photography class and learn valuable hints and tips:

Photography Tips

Consider Composition

A Basic Digital Photography Class - Learn Important Hints and Tips

When taking pictures, you do not always have time to frame a shot perfectly. The result may be that you have too much skyline or missing parts of your subject. Therefore, even if you're taking a quick family snap, it is worth taking a few seconds to ensure that what you see through the viewfinder or on the LCD screen will look good in an actual photograph.

Once you are more familiar with composition, you can start to think about how color, texture, tone, shadow, and light affect the path of the viewer's eye.

Keep the Camera Still

This may seem like a ridiculously simple thing to say, but many pictures are ruined by camera shake. The fact is that lightweight compact nature of digital cameras makes them easy to hold, but this means that you are less likely to be able to hold it steady when taking a picture. Therefore, make sure you're holding your camera with both hands and ensure that you're not holding it at arms length.

Make Sure You Take Enough Shots

Sometimes, especially if you're trying to shoot a nature picture, it may take hours, days or even weeks to get that perfect shot. When it comes, make sure that you take enough shots. You should also try to experiment with your camera's settings. When your photos are uploaded on your computer, you can compare the various modes to learn which ones work best.

It's Not all Luck, But a Little Luck Helps

Capturing that perfect moment does require a little luck. However, really great pictures occur when preparation meets luck. Therefore, it is advisable to do some research on the subject or location that you wish to shoot. Again, it is also a good idea to experiment with your camera's settings. In addition, it is always wise to keep your camera close by to ensure that when luck strikes, you do not miss the opportunity.

Lighting Does Not Have to Be Expensive

Some amateur photographers think that lighting setups are exclusively the domain of professional photographers. In fact, you can get great lighting effects with simple halogen desk lamps and a good clean backdrop, such as a sheet. Again, do not be afraid to experiment; you may surprise yourself with what you can achieve.

This basic digital photography class has provided you with some helpful hints and tips that will enable you to take better pictures in the future.

Wedding Photography Tips - From Capturing to Editing

Wedding Photography Tips - From Capturing to Editing Video Clips. Duration : 5.03 Mins.

froknowsphoto.com I love photographing weddings, they are extremely fun and allow you to get really creative. Every wedding that you photograph is different and presents a different challenge. Sometimes you are faced with a strange location with not a lot of great backgrounds and other times you are in the most beautiful place. Regardless of where you are you still need to capture images. This weeks photo of the week brings you an image captured at a recent wedding. I want to start off by saying how amazing it was to work with this wedding party, they did not stop smiling and laughing all day. When you are working with people who are having fun, smiling and just being themselves it makes for a much easier day. To set up this photo I will give you some background on the location. We were on the banks of the Delaware river in North East Philadelphia at an old estate. The grounds were gorgeous but we faced an overcast day and were loosing light. You may have heard me say this before but I love shooting on overcast days. It is like shooting with a huge soft-box in the sky. A soft-box diffuses the light aka the sun is blocked by clouds which in turn makes for really sweet light. We needed to capture a full wedding party shot before we lost to much light. There was this amazing path with trees that had their leaves changing. When it came to setting my camera and deciding on a lens I knew I wanted to use the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VRII because it would be sharp corner to corner at 2.8 ...

Strobist Equipment And Tips by Karl Taylor Video Clips. Duration : 9.38 Mins.

Get More FREE Training Videos at my website: www.karltaylorphotography.com In the UK we say "flash" and in the USA they say "strobes". Either way using them for more complex lighting scenarios has become all the rage and the technique has become commonly know as strobist or even strobism. But let's face it, all we are talking about is adding light and how we add light to our subject, preferably without having to spend a small fortune on a load of studio kit, ranger packs and generators! There is however quite a bit more to it than that and the techniques for lighting are covered in depth in our series of DVDs, but what I thought I would share with you today is some information about the kit itself. In this video I take a look at some setups for strobists and some tips on how to make your flash work better and more effectively. Enjoy! Karl Taylor. 10 Great Baby Photo Ideas

Babies change so fast! One minute they're a newborn and the next a toddler exploring their world. Digital cameras and cell phone cameras have made it so easy for us to take pictures on the run and catch those day to day pictures. Sometimes we do want to do a posed portrait of our babies, maybe to commemorate a holiday or birthday. There are lots of baby photo ideas for some really cute portraits. Here are a few that you might want to try next time you want to do a "formal" portrait instead of a snapshot, maybe for your holiday cards or a birth announcement?

Newborn cradled in your hands. This can be an affecting portrait of a newborn. Place the sleeping baby in the parent's hands, cradling the head and supporting the body on their arms.

Photography Tips

Infant with pet. Does the family dog take responsibility for your new baby. Try for a portrait of the baby sleeping and the dog "on guard" or curled up with the child.

10 Great Baby Photo Ideas

Christmas Stocking. Is this baby's first Christmas? A newborn in the holidays is a special treat. Place baby in a Christmas stocking for a fun holiday card. This would work with both a sleeping newborn or an awake, smiling infant.

Siblings. If there's an older sibling have them hold the baby. If they're a young sibling, mom or dad can help adding another dimension to the portrait.

Sleeping Angel. Try a white on white background with the baby in a nest of white feathers (a white boa works well for this). No need to add wings, the baby will be angel enough on her own!

Helper. Some fun portrait ideas for older babies/toddlers is being mom or dad's "helper". A baby who can sit up placed in a laundry basket, in a big pot holding a wooden spoon, in a birdbath.

Ribbons and bows. Pose the child in a pile of holiday ribbons and bows. This would work well both for a sleeping newborn or a more active infant.
