Sunset Photography - Five Simple Tips for Beginners

Sunsets and sunrises are an inspirational subject for any photographer. In fact, good people is a sunset photo is often the reason many interested Photography Nature. You do not need a great camera or professional training, have almost anyone with a camera photographing great sunset.

The good news is, good sunset photos are surprisingly easy to take. In my gallery I did not really show a lot of sunset photos. You see, they are hard to sell because almosteveryone has to have some great sunsets themselves photographed. Instead of buying me, they are more willing to grab their camera and show me the picture she took on the night before!

As a result I am often asked to evaluate sunset photos from amateur photographers to (occupational hazard for nature photographers!), And I've learned to quickly recognize where most people go wrong. It is not difficult to suspend a sunset photo, in many cases you can leave your camera on auto and it will do theWork for you. The trouble is, people, in an interesting composition. It is not good enough, just a good photo heaven. The real challenge lies in a spectacular sky turning into a convincing picture.

Here are my five tips for taking great sunset (and sunrise) photos.

Sunset Photography Tip # 1 Learn to predict a good sunset before it happens. Did you ever see a perfect sky, only to realize they had no camera at hand? In the five minutesneed to get the camera and has set up for the photo of the moment. As brilliant as a sunset may be the effect can last for a few minutes, so you must be able to display your location, choose your camera and wait for the show to start.

Sunset Photography Tip # 2 Be patient to get the best colors. The few minutes as the sun can be spectacular on the horizon, but it's not the whole story of a sunset. As the setting sun lit the clouds from below, often the richest colors can appear to be half an hour later. At this time there is always quite dark, be prepared with your tripod. They can shoot exposures of half a second or more, shooting to get the most out of your sunset.

Sunset Photography Tip # 3 Find a good foreground subject. This may be the most important tip of all. Time and again people show me their sunset photos, and all I can think of is "Great heavens ... a pity you did not make a better picture out of it." Wehave all seen and photographed spectacular sky, so that alone is not enough to create your artwork. Try an object, well above the horizon (trees, windmills, buildings, power lines) and has a way of identifying create a good silhouette. It must not fill your image. In fact, it may take only a small area - the only make the sky seem even more impressive. The most important thing is to give your image a focal point, so that your audience has somethingmore interesting than looking at just a big sky.

Think back to my Tip # 1 To a great photo that you need to be prepared in advance, so your location scout for a good front, long before the razzle-dazzle is in motion.

Sunset Photography Tips fourth Fill your photo with color. You have probably heard of Photography "thirds rule" in the landscape. In simple words, this rule suggests your horizon a third of the way should be from above or from below, from yourPhoto to create a balanced composition. The problem is when you take pictures in the sunset, everything will be in the foreground in silhouette. This means that if you follow the rule of thirds, a big part of your composition is completely black. This is a situation where you can ignore the rule of thirds. By your sky dominate the composition, fill your screen with color and draw even more attention to the richness of the sunset.

Sunset Photography Tip 5When used near water, in order to enhance the effect. People often see a sunset on the beach or on a river and are a long way back to their shot. This approach fails to take advantage of the reflections on the water, so instead of a rich foreground there is too much empty black space.

Get up to the edge of the water or wet sand on the beach. By detecting the reflections, your foreground echo the color of the sky. Not only will your photo to be colorful, but you will Start to opportunities for much more interesting compositions on the spot.

So there you have my simple tips, sunset photography. Note that I creativity, not technology focused on. As I said before, a good exposure sunset photo is not difficult, the challenge is to your photo, from the rest. Like all good nature photography, your sensitivity to nature is more important than technical skills. Be inspired by nature, and largebe> Photography to follow. Good luck!
