Shooting groups of people is always a challenge in particular younger patients. Understanding group dynamics and some basic key will help you to shoot group shots that will be admired. There will always be a challenge, since each group is different. These tips will help you better group shots.
I am always reluctant to large groups of people for the reason that it's hard to get all do the same thing at the same shoot. So I prefer to shoot a large groupdivided into smaller, more intimate groups. This has major advantages, and you will be able to spread more of the people in the picture instead of small areas to see on the photo.
Here are some good tips for shooting groups.
1st Keep your small groups
As I just said, it is important to fewer people with more of the people in the image. Groups are shot for memories. You want to remember the event and the people. Rather, two groups of three or fouras a large group of eight. Smaller groups are easier to steer and placement of the issues is far more simple.
2nd Plan your shot
Planning is key to any good photo shoot. Become a director like in the movies. Not only we humans are, where they want. Move people around and make for an interesting scene. Be creative and go over great people at the back and short forward. Group other about the most important person in the picture. Know where you wantany person who is standing in relation to the whole group.
3rd Carefully choose a location
Where do you take the attitude is very important. Of course there are times where you are, can limit how and where to shoot. But always be aware of their origin and the edges of the image. They want to divert any items in the photo of the main issues, but you want something that helps the group from its background without distractions. SometimesIt's great to put the group in its context, for example, a team needs a little surfing on the beach and not a wooden fence.
4th Get close
This is consistent with our first point. You want to get close to the group why you do not want it too big. The closer you the closer you will see in their faces. If the group is large, they try to bring their heads to get closer together. Exclusive body is fine, but nobody wants to see half a head. Again,To create memories not only a record of the event. As the old saying goes, is less. Fewer people, but more details.
5th Use the function several shots on your camera
This is especially useful when taking shots of small groups, but not necessarily in the inclusion of large groups. Among several shots makes it easier when you get the shot may be only fractions of a second if everyone will have to look at the camera and not blink. With the continuous shootingMode, you pick up momentum in the group that you find usually not calculated in a single photo.
6th Be happy
There is nothing worse in a group photo situation as a tired and Grumpy Old photographers. Be happy, even if you do not want to. People feed off the energy of the other and a smile or a laugh can be contagious. A smile is the most time you can relax your subjects and make them happier. Engage them, tell jokes and mainly find ways to relax them. IfYou are not in a great mood did not do the photo shoot.
No group is the same as the next, even if you shoot class after class at the local school. Each group has its own dynamics. What drives. So the milk is out and pays for all. Shooting groups can be a lot of fun if you have the time to get into their world and to take. Remember that practice makes perfect and the more you do it, the better you become. Happy shooting!
